Two years! That's how long it's been since I made my second solo student short! I dug up my boards in the process of finding goods for my new demo reel I'm plotting to release the Taafi Job Fair weekend...So feel free to take a gander at them :)

Happy 4th Birthday Jack!

It was today four years ago that I had a little boy come into my life on top of trying to complete my third year of animation. The support from my family, teachers, friends and fellow classmates helped balance the roles of being a mother and an animator/artist. My son has only been on this planet four years and it is amazing how quickly such a small human being grows over that small span of time.

...As well as demand non-stop Wall-E marathons! Here's to my little guy on his special day.

Wall-E Kinder Egg Holiday Fun

My son is completely in love with everything Wall-E and today we made these for our tree. It's amazing what a sharpie marker, two kinder egg containers and a lil' paint can make. Despite my hand not being the steadiest I think they turned out pretty cute!

I made this for Ian's son who was recently in a car accident (his wonderful idea). I hope it brings as many smiles to his little boy as I received drawing it.

Merry Owlmas!

Since I'm without a printer and with a hdmi port-broken laptop...Here's my tablet-drawn quickie digital xmas card. Relearning to use a tablet after the glory of a cintiq feels really foreign! This isn't as nice as last year's card but I hope it makes up for it with cuteness.

   

Unicorn Cat Concepts

Some ideas for a funny little guy I call Unicorn Cat or "UC" for short. UC is the result of a unicorn dad and a princess' fluffy pet cat as a mum. Last of the litter UC got saddled with a horn and heart butt-mark while his siblings got all the cuteness and glitter magic. UC works at a quest-giving office dealing out jobs and managing a handful of dysfunctional heros/villians. He's usually high-stress oriented and no-nonsense which clashes with his fantasy world setting.

Computer Animation T-Shirt Design

 This is my recent submission for the 3D animation t-shirt design for our Sheridan 2013 summer class. I wanted a very sketchy look with some "hidden" maya/mudbox themes.

Coned Room Texturing

Here's the latest Coned update...Seizure textures! I went a little nuts on the brushstrokes but I'm trying to get a very painterly look. Catformity used watercolour textures and so Coned will get a faux oil paint look.

I'm just using a low-res VRay rec light for now so my apologies for the bland appearance. >_<;

Shaving the Cat

 Our systems prof. Kris did a tutorial on how to use Shave today and I'm really liking it compared to my Vray fur attempts. The only thing is it doesn't mimic my uvmap outright like vray fur does...So if I do use it I gotta figure out how to do my circular eyebrows.

 

*Used the base hair, cut and brushed it out

 

*This Santa cat is the result of trying to get a neck poof like my roomie Kyle's cat.

*A ramp shader did the tail perfectly :3

"Coned" Kitchen Layout Start

Here's the starting of my kitchen layout for my 3D film "Coned". It's based off of my mum's kitchen back home. Vray didn't want to smooth things so the fridge is bleh and the bottom of the sink is poking out :S
